Accessibility Statement

Accessibility

Epic Edge builds ADA compliance into the projects we deliver, so we hold this website to the same standard. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 conformance.

Effective date: TODO — pending legal review

1. Conformance target

This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and to meet the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for federal audiences. Conformance is partial where noted below.

2. Measures built into this site

  • A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page.
  • Semantic landmarks — header, navigation, main, and footer — with labels where more than one of a kind exists.
  • One h1 per page and headings in sequential order.
  • Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element, with no keyboard traps outside of intentional modal focus containment.
  • Multi-step forms that announce step changes and validation errors through a live region.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology.
  • Text and interface colors checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios on both navy and off-white backgrounds.
  • Icon-only controls carry accessible names.
  • Motion is limited to entrance reveals and respects the operating system's reduced-motion preference.

3. Known limitations

  • Photographic backgrounds behind page banners can reduce perceived contrast at some viewport sizes; heading text is layered over a scrim to compensate and is reviewed each release.
  • The résumé upload control depends on the browser's native file picker, whose behavior we do not control.
  • Third-party embedded content, where present, may not fully conform.

4. Assistive technology tested

Testing is performed with keyboard-only navigation, automated audits during development, and screen reader spot checks. TODO — record the specific screen reader and browser combinations covered in the most recent formal audit.

5. Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site prevents you from getting information or completing a form, tell us. Use the contact form and select 'General question,' or ask a colleague to submit on your behalf. Include the page address and what happened.

We acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and provide the requested information through an alternate channel — phone, email, or a plain-text document — while we work on a fix.

6. Ongoing review

Accessibility is checked as part of every significant release rather than as an annual exercise. This statement is updated when the conformance status or known limitations change.
